What is Project Tengu?
Project Tengu is the name of a marketing campaign by Chaikin Analytics, the stock-research firm founded by Wall Street veteran Marc Chaikin, promoting an AI-focused stock prediction event in June 2026. Coverage and teaser-decoder sites connect the campaign's name to reports that "tengu" is the internal codename of Anthropic's Claude Code, the AI coding product. In plain terms: Project Tengu is a research-marketing teaser about AI-related stocks, not a software product, an app, or an AI you can use.
Whether Chaikin's research is worth following is a judgment we are not going to make for you. Chaikin Analytics is a real firm with a long history; teaser campaigns are a normal part of how research is marketed. If you came here to decode the pick, the decoder sites cover that. What we can tell you precisely is what Project Tengu is not: it is not affiliated with tengu.co, and signing up for a research letter does not give you an AI.
Why is it called Tengu? The codename coincidence
Tengu is a figure from Japanese folklore, a long-nosed mountain spirit, and a perennial favorite for tech codenames. Reporting in 2026 indicated that Anthropic's Claude Code carries the internal codename tengu, which is the thread the Project Tengu campaign pulls on. Our company picked the same name for a different reason and a different product, well before this campaign existed: the tengu is a watcher from above, which is exactly what an AI that oversees every one of your brokerage accounts does.
So three unrelated things currently share the name: the folklore creature, the reported Anthropic codename that Project Tengu markets around, and Tengu the AI portfolio manager at tengu.co. This page exists because search engines mix them up, and people end up in the wrong place.
See it on your own portfolio: connect a broker and ask Tengu anything about your money.

Yes, and this is the part we are qualified to speak about, because it is ours. Tengu is the AI portfolio manager that connects 25+ brokerages, including Robinhood, Schwab, Fidelity, Interactive Brokers, Coinbase, and Kraken, and executes the trades you approve through your own broker. Never custodial. It is live software, not a teaser. You can chat with an AI grounded in your actual positions, backed by cited research from 229 finance tools covering public markets and 10.5M private companies. You can talk to your portfolio out loud with Tengu Voice. You can subscribe to strategies like congressional trade tracking and hedge-fund 13F mirroring, approve the trades you want, and let them route through the accounts you already own.
The irony is not lost on us: a marketing campaign named after an AI codename has made thousands of people search for an AI named Tengu. One exists. It takes five minutes to try and is free to start.

What about the June 2026 AI prediction event?
The campaign centers on a dated prediction event in mid-June 2026. We have no inside knowledge of what will be presented, no opinion we are willing to print about any teased ticker, and no financial relationship with the campaign. Our general advice applies to every teaser in every market cycle: dated prediction events are marketing devices; whatever is revealed will be public information minutes later; and no single stock pick, AI-themed or otherwise, substitutes for a portfolio you actually manage. If the campaign got you curious about what AI can do for your investing, you can try the working version today, on your own accounts, for free.
